As part of my dining experience at Go-Ku. The friendly Chef Raymond gave me a second meal for FREE. As I was craving to my excitement what that real Sichuan Noodles would taste like. But apparently when I interviewed him, he said "it doesn't contain real Sichuan Peppers because it's expensive and may be needing someone from China, a contact person to order that spice by bulk".
And here it is! My first Spicy Sichuan Noodles come to my senses at long last. ππ

JUDGEMENT TIME! ππ
After all the preps and cooking the friendly Chef Raymond was up to. It was then delivered to me freshly cooked! Which makes me happy!
At first glance the noodle dish may seem boring and lacking impact. But we will soon understand what makes this dish a fiery dish while uncovering some of its hidden flavors and components.
As I smelled the meal, a superb bursting aroma runs through my nostril. It's as if that this dish is calling my name to dig in while its hot. The complexity of aroma is just so wonderful that you can't afford to comprehend for the time being, but not until I am going to taste it.
What makes it amazing are:
»The noodles are straight, soft, light and bland. Very common but that doesn't matter!
»The noodles are straight, soft, light and bland. Very common but that doesn't matter!
»The flavors are completely different from what I expected, with contrasting unevenness of sesame oil, soy sauce, semi sweet flavor, and with tangy peanut sauce, biting spiciness and with a subtle taste of ground pork that goes interchangeably in each and every bite was like a raging torrent to my tongue in a graceful multitude of layered flavours. This is just way too exquisite! The unevenness is a state of the art in which it keeps the pace of complete leverage of complexity! It was very new to me to use peanut sauce into a noodle dish. Truly amazing and splendid!
»Plus the addition of spring onions and white sesame seeds are just a complementary flavors of fresh and earthy note.
The only downside in this dish are:
»The noodles were overcooked, it's not al dente (firm) any more.
»Too oily! If you dont like oily foods. Then this is literally not for you. π
Disclaimer:
»The use of peanut sauce were just an alternative substitute, it SHOULD have been sesame sauce.
Although the Chef/Cook behind this dish's recipe also states that "he prefers peanuts instead of real sesames because it is inexpensive. What matters is the nutty aroma and flavor those seeds were both similar from".

»It's lacking some MA LA WEI effect in Chinese Sichuan Cuisine. It's level of spiciness was apparently adjusted to Filipino tasting though it's not the exact fiery effect that I was looking for that really resembles to true Sichuanese Cuisine. Anyhow! I still enjoyed the meal.
♨Fun Fact!
MA LA WEI
...Basically, it refers to two different spicy sensations in the mouth, with ‘la’ being the one we are more familiar in the west, the type of spicy chili peppers that make you sweat and cry, and its counterpart, ‘ma’, being the aftertaste of Sichuanese peppercorn, that literally makes you numb and feels like you’ve ruined your tongue.

Overall, I like this dish, I would probably order more of this soon but sad to say the owner of Goku which happens to be the Cook as well chooses to dissolve this dish in their menu, which happened last March 16, 2018.
